Asphalt shingles, metal sheets and shingles, tile, clay tile, concrete, and slate shingles are all recommended roofing materials.
Eaves are the lower edges of your roof that hang over the exterior walls. As a fire approaches your home, the exterior walls deflect hot air and gasses up into the eave. For homes with combustible siding (such as wood), the effects of open eaves are even more dangerous.
