Program Partners

Our Program Partners

Those who support our program and help us achieve success

During the last five years, many organizations and groups have worked with Wildfire Partners.  We are grateful for providing their assistance and working with us to help make our communities safer.  Many of these organizations serve on our advisory board as well.

If your organization or company is interested in becoming a Wildfire Partners program partner, please contact us at info@wildfirepartners.org or call 303-441-1420.

Local Realtors

Performing wildfire mitigation around your home can be a great benefit to selling your home.  Attaining fire insurance can be a challenge for a new home owner.  A home that is certified through the Wildfire Partners program provides added assurance to a buyer.  We thank our local realtors for advising buyers and sellers about the value of our program.

The Colorado Association of Realtors details tools and resources through its Project Wildfire, whose mission is to reduce and prevent the destruction of land, property and lives through education and awareness.

Insurance Industry

Wildfire Partners is now recognized by most insurance companies as a valuable resource in educating home owners about wildfire mitigation around their home.  We currently have agreements in place with Allstate Insurance, State Farm and USAA that certified home owners will not be non-renewed related to wildfire hazard.

Most insurance companies accept a Wildfire Partner certificate as proof of required fire mitigation for insurance companies.  We are not aware of any certified home being denied insurance.

The Rocky Mountain Insurance & Information Association (RMIIA) offers helpful information on the fire mitigation through their website, Wildfire and Insurance.

Local Businesses and Community Groups

Many of our local businesses provide support to our program.  These local businesses assist home owners with purchasing the right tools and educating them how to perform specific mitigation actions.

With the assistance of home owner associations, we are able to spread the word to home owners about our program.  Wildfire mitigation done on a community-wide basis provides much greater protection and safety for home owners than if done individually.

Community work groups like Saws and Slaws provide assistance to home owners with limited financial resources.  What better way to help out your neighbors and get to know them better than by attending a work day event!  If you don’t have one in your area, think about starting one.

Local Fire Protection Districts

Your local fire protection district is a great resource for learning more about the threat of wildfires and fire behavior in your specific area.  We often work with local fire officials on home assessments, appreciating the valuable insight and knowledge they provide to our team of mitigation specialists.  If you have specific questions about wildfire risk in your area, contacting your local fire protection district is a good place to start.

Local and Federal Government

Without the support of local government, Wildfire Partners would not succeed.  Boulder County government provides funding and support of the program as part of their Land Use Department.  The Colorado State Forest Service provides valuable grant funding as well as helpful information to home owners about state forest guidelines.  Local town and city governments provide outreach on our program to home owners.  Through FEMA, we are able to provide financial awards to our home owners to help alleviate the costs of performing fire mitigation.

All these organizations ensure a bright future for the Wildfire Partners program.

Wildfire Research

Research on wildfire behavior and mitigation is constantly evolving.  Local universities and agencies conduct research on a regular basis, helping us to understand the future of wildfires in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI).  We incorporate these principles and techniques into our assessments, providing home owners with the latest and most effective fire mitigation methods.

Other Program Partners

Many other organizations have lent their expertise to our program.  With the help of many different groups, Wildfire Partners has become a model program for others around the country.  We couldn’t do it alone and appreciate the efforts of many who have helped us succeed.
