COLD SPRINGS WILDFIRE
The Cold Springs Fire was first reported on July 9, 2016, two miles northeast of Nederland, Colorado. Started by a campfire on private property that had not been properly extinguished, the fire quickly spread to more than 500 acres.
More than 1,900 residents were evacuated with one thousand homes directly threatened. Due to the valiant efforts of firefighters, only eight homes were lost. There were no casualties. All home within the fire's perimeter that were part of the Wildfire Partners Program survived.
